Chandigarh— The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday adjourned the bail hearing of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia in the disproportionate-assets case to November 10, after detailed arguments were presented by both sides. No interim relief was granted during today’s proceedings.

The bench heard extensive submissions from the prosecution and the defence but reserved any immediate order. The matter will now be taken up on Monday, when the court is likely to pronounce its decision on Majithia’s bail plea.

Majithia was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on June 25 from his residence in Amritsar in connection with a case alleging possession of assets beyond known sources of income. Since his arrest, the SAD leader has been lodged in Nabha Jail.

The case, which has drawn significant political attention, marks another chapter in the long-running legal troubles of the senior Akali Dal leader. The outcome of Monday’s hearing will determine whether he continues in custody or secures conditional release.
