Amritsar: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police, in a joint inter-state operation with the Gujarat Police, have cracked the high-profile murder case of social media influencer and makeup artist Madhusudan Singh, popularly known as Mad Sandhu. Sandhu was gunned down in broad daylight on Loharka Road in Amritsar on October 3 while visiting a local car wash. Law enforcement authorities confirmed on Thursday that six accused individuals, including the primary shooter who had fled to Gujarat, have been successfully traced.
The investigation was set into motion following a formal complaint by the victim’s father, Bhupinder Singh, leading to the registration of FIR No. 186 at the Cantonment Police Station in Amritsar. The case was filed under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) alongside relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Mobilizing technical surveillance, call data analyses, and human intelligence, investigators tracked the alleged main shooter, Parminder Singh alias Kaka, a resident of Lohian Khas in Jalandhar Rural, to Gujarat, where he was apprehended. A specialized police contingent from Amritsar was dispatched to Gujarat to complete transit formalities and escort him back to Punjab for intensive interrogation.
Preliminary interrogations and investigative leads suggest that the assailants executed the contract killing at the behest of the Jagga Gang based in Tarn Taran. Authorities also identified five other co-conspirators linked to the logistics and execution of the attack, including Amandeep Singh from Kapurthala, Parmveer Singh from Jalandhar Rural, Baljinder Singh alias Lalli of Tarn Taran, and Balraj Singh alias Bunty alongside Vikas Singh, both hailing from Khalchian in Amritsar Rural.
Police officials stated that sustained custodial questioning of the suspects is underway to unearth the deeper conspiracy, establish the chain of command behind the gangland directive, and recover the firearms utilized in the fatal shooting.
