Ludhiana: A senior police officer in Ludhiana has accused a local gun house owner of intimidation and interference in official work. The matter came to light after an FIR was lodged against the accused, identified as Sudarshan Sharma of Haibowal, at Police Station Division No. 5.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on May 7 inside the office of ACP (Licensing) Rajesh Sharma. The officer stated that around 1:30 pm, the accused attempted to get his file signed by sending his gun house card through an orderly. When asked to wait outside, Sharma allegedly stormed in, raising his voice and demanding immediate clearance.

Dispute over file signing

The ACP said that the file was presented without the applicant’s presence, due to which he declined to sign it. This reportedly led to an argument, during which the gun house owner insisted that the officer was intentionally delaying his work. He allegedly went on to warn that if the file was not signed, he would approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court with a writ petition.

Charges of obstruction and threats

In his statement, ACP Rajesh Sharma maintained that the accused created a scene in front of staff members and openly issued threats. Acting on the complaint, police have booked Sudarshan Sharma under sections related to obstructing a public servant in the discharge of duties and criminal intimidation.

The investigation is underway, and officials have confirmed that the accused will be questioned further. Authorities also stated that strict action will follow if the allegations are substantiated.
