Gurdaspur: The district administration in Gurdaspur has announced a half-day local holiday in all educational institutions on Tuesday, April 7, on the occasion of the 490th birth anniversary of Goswami Sri Guru Nabha Das Maharaj Ji.

Officials said the decision was taken in view of a grand religious procession being organised to mark the occasion, keeping in mind both public sentiment and necessary security arrangements.

The administration clarified that the holiday will be applicable only for part of the day and will cover schools and other educational institutions across the district.

However, institutions where examinations are scheduled have been exempted from the order and will continue to function as per their existing timetable.
