Chandigarh— Former Punjab DIG Harcharan Bhullar, who was caught taking a ₹5 lakh bribe, will be produced before a CBI court today after the completion of his five-day remand. During interrogation, the CBI reportedly obtained the names of 10 IPS and 4 IAS officers allegedly linked to the bribery network, and strong evidence is being collected against them.

The CBI also raided the house of Patiala-based property dealer Bhupinder Singh, seizing around ₹20.5 lakh in cash, several documents, and electronic devices. Bhupinder is accused of laundering black money for senior officials. Investigators have also recovered chats involving judicial officials, suggesting attempts to influence court orders.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a disproportionate assets case against Bhullar but has not yet received his custody. The bureau is likely to seek a production warrant from the Mohali court today. Both the CBI and Vigilance Bureau are probing separate angles of corruption, with the CBI focusing on tracing the roots of the bribery network.

Sources revealed that DIG Bhullar shared close ties with Bhupinder Singh, the Patiala property dealer who was raided by the CBI on Tuesday. The agency may soon obtain a court warrant for Bhupinder’s arrest.

The CBI has also summoned Punjab DSP Kuldeep for questioning after learning that he met middleman Krishnu Sharda during Bhullar’s stay in Burail Jail.
