Tarn Taran: Panic gripped Punjab’s Tarn Taran district after a 60-year-old farmer was shot dead outside his home in a targeted attack on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Atma Singh, was allegedly lured out of his house in Gandivind Dhattal village by two unidentified assailants. According to family members, the attackers called him outside, and as he approached the gate, they opened fire. One of the bullets struck his forehead, killing him on the spot.

The accused fled immediately on a motorcycle, leaving the area in shock. Police have launched a search operation and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.

CCTV footage from the locality has surfaced, showing two motorcycle-borne individuals moving through the area shortly before the incident. The footage reportedly captures them asking locals for directions, and investigators are now examining it closely for leads.

Atma Singh, a retired Punjab Roadways employee, is survived by his wife, a daughter, and two sons.

Police officials said the investigation is ongoing, and all possible angles are being explored to establish the motive behind the killing.
