Mohali— The Mohali court on Tuesday reserved its decision on the bail plea of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who is currently behind bars in a disproportionate assets case. The final verdict on the plea is now expected to be announced on Wednesday, August 7.

This was Majithia’s sixth attempt to secure bail in the high-profile case, but once again, no relief was granted immediately. The matter was argued extensively in court, but the judge chose to defer the decision until tomorrow afternoon.

Separately, Majithia’s request for a change of barrack within the jail premises is set to be heard on August 12.

Majithia has remained in judicial custody since his arrest earlier this year, and his repeated attempts to secure bail have so far been unsuccessful
