Colder Nights Grip Punjab as Temperatures Dip Ahead of Western Disturbance

Chandigarh: Night temperatures across Punjab have fallen by 1.6 degrees Celsius, signaling the arrival of winter. Meteorologists anticipate a further drop in temperatures as a new Western Disturbance is set to become active on November 4.

The Meteorological Centre has predicted snowfall and rain in the hilly regions once the system strengthens. Punjab, especially districts bordering Himachal Pradesh, may experience light to moderate rainfall under its influence.

Rain is likely in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur on November 4, followed by showers in Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar on November 5.

While the rainfall may offer temporary relief from dust and dryness, experts say pollution levels are unlikely to decrease significantly. After the rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, cold winds from the mountains are expected to sweep through Punjab, intensifying the chill across the state.
