Chandigarh: After spending nearly a week under medical care, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was discharged from Fortis Hospital in Mohali on Thursday evening. Emerging from the hospital around 4:35 PM, he briefly greeted well-wishers outside before heading to his official residence in Chandigarh.

Despite his recent hospitalization, the Chief Minister is set to resume full administrative duties. Sources confirmed that Mann will convene a key meeting today to assess and accelerate flood relief operations across the state. The virtual meeting, scheduled for 11 AM, will bring together departmental secretaries and all district deputy commissioners.

Upon returning home on Thursday, CM Mann immediately reviewed initial reports on the relief efforts underway in various flood-affected areas. Officials familiar with the developments said that today’s session will include a comprehensive overview of the flood situation, including district-wise damage assessments and displacement figures.

The administration is expected to present data on the extent of agricultural and infrastructure losses, the number of affected families, and the status of ongoing rehabilitation measures. The meeting will also evaluate current flood risks and the effectiveness of preventive actions taken so far.

This proactive engagement by the Chief Minister signals the government’s intent to closely monitor and expedite support for those impacted by the recent floods.
