Jalandhar – Continuous rainfall in Punjab has severely disrupted normal life, with the Chaugiti flyover in Jalandhar sinking due to structural damage. The collapse forced authorities to immediately shut down the route from both sides.

Officials reached the site and began urgent repair work to prevent further damage. Despite barricades being installed and soil being used to stabilize the area, locals were seen risking their safety by attempting to remove vehicles from the damaged flyover.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot, while traffic police confirmed that National Highway (NH) officials had also arrived and taken charge of the repair operations. Authorities acknowledged that visible cracks had appeared in the structure, leading to its partial sinking.

In view of public safety, traffic movement across the flyover has been completely halted. Senior NH officials have been informed about the incident, and further action is being monitored at the highest level.
