Balkaur Singh Voices Frustration Over Justice Process, Questions Fairness

Mansa: Balkaur Singh, father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has issued a strongly worded statement on social media, expressing deep dissatisfaction with how his family’s fight for justice has been handled and questioning the impartiality of the process.

In his post, Singh lamented that while citizens have a constitutional right to present their side in legal matters, the fairness of that hearing often remains in doubt. “Answers that don’t arrive in time hold no value,” he wrote, adding that despite their consistent efforts, nothing meaningful had worked in his family’s favour.

He recalled the shocking circumstances surrounding his son’s killing, noting that this might be the only case where “even the murderer has been given a platform to speak publicly.” Singh said that when his family sought justice, they were dismissed outright, with some even claiming they did not truly want justice.

Singh also criticised the disclosure of personal details when his family pursued their legal rights, calling it an invasion of privacy. “When those who endure tragedy begin to speak up, they are often seen as the ones at fault,” he remarked, describing the mounting pressure and perceived betrayal they have faced, particularly in light of his age and health.

Addressing recent discussions about his family’s income, Singh stressed that every bit of it is the result of his and his family’s hard work, along with the legacy of his late son. “The worth of my child’s words cannot be measured in any currency,” he said, adding that his family continues to look to him for leadership in this ongoing struggle.

Concluding his statement, Singh posed a pointed question: “How long will we have to suffer? How long before things are set right?”

The post reflects both the emotional toll and the unresolved grievances surrounding Moosewala’s high-profile murder case, which has sparked widespread public debate since the singer was shot dead in May 2022.
