Amritsar: In a joint intelligence-based operation carried out with central agencies, the Amritsar Rural Police arrested Malkeet Singh, a resident of Pandori village, Amritsar, and seized a cache of weapons including a hand grenade, including a .30 bore Px5 pistol, and 10 live rounds of ammunition.

According to police officials, the preliminary probe has revealed Malkeet Singh’s close association with UK-based gangster Dharma Sandhu, who is known to be a close aide of Harwinder Singh Rinda. Rinda, identified as a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative, is currently based in Pakistan and is believed to be receiving support from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Authorities have launched further investigations to uncover the larger network and trace possible links with cross-border terror operations.

Reaffirming its stance, the Punjab Police stated that it remains steadfast in its mission to dismantle terror-gangster syndicates and protect peace and stability in the state.
