19-Year-Old BBA Student Dies by Suicide at CT University Near Jagraon

Jagraon: A 19-year-old BBA student, identified as Shabnoor, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a building at CT University in village Chounkiman near Jagraon.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem to the Civil Hospital in Jagraon. Authorities said a detailed investigation is underway and assured that the matter will be thoroughly probed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jaswinder Singh Dhindsa and University Director Davinder Singh stated that, according to preliminary information from fellow students, Shabnoor was a resident of Ludhiana and used to commute daily to attend classes at the university. The exact reason behind the incident will be known only after the investigation is completed, officials said.

Family members, who arrived at the Civil Hospital, declined to speak to the media. They were visibly devastated by the loss.
