Chandigarh: Celebrated wrestler Vinesh Phogat has extended a helping hand to flood-affected families in Punjab through her foundation, which has begun distributing essential supplies in several inundated villages.

Teams from the Vinesh Phogat Foundation visited submerged areas and provided food, drinking water, medicines, and daily necessities to struggling residents. Volunteers not only delivered relief but also interacted with villagers to understand their concerns, assuring them of sustained assistance in the weeks ahead.

Phogat, while appealing for broader public participation, urged people to stand in solidarity with the victims. “Just as the people of Haryana and Punjab have always shared unity and brotherhood, we must now extend the same spirit to those facing hardships,” she said.

She added that the current drive is only the beginning and that her foundation will continue to expand relief operations to ensure long-term support for affected communities.

Large parts of Punjab remain submerged following the floods, leaving thousands of families displaced and farmlands destroyed. In this crisis, initiatives by individuals and organizations like the Vinesh Phogat Foundation are emerging as crucial sources of relief and reassurance for many.
