Kushinagar (UP): A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district claimed the lives of three men and left four others critically injured, police officials confirmed on Sunday.

The mishap occurred late Saturday night when a speeding truck rammed into a car carrying seven occupants. The group was reportedly on its way back after attending a social gathering when the collision took place on a district road.

Local police rushed to the scene soon after receiving information and began rescue operations. The injured victims were first taken to the Community Health Centre in Hata, where they were provided initial medical care. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, all four were later referred to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur for advanced treatment.

Officials said three occupants died on the spot or succumbed to their injuries shortly after the crash. The identities of the deceased are being confirmed, and their families have been informed.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident, including the speed of the vehicles and possible negligence. Further action will be taken once the probe is completed, officials added.
