New Delhi – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured him of greater central assistance for flood relief in Punjab.

The assurance came during a 25-minute meeting in Delhi, where Mann detailed the scale of devastation caused by floods in the state. Shah reportedly termed the earlier grant of ₹1,600 crore as merely “token money” and promised that more funds would soon be released to support rehabilitation and recovery.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, CM Mann said the Union Home Minister responded positively to Punjab’s request and pledged all possible support from the Centre to help flood-affected families and restore normalcy.
