Mohali: Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda continues to battle for his life at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he has remained on life support for the seventh consecutive day following a severe bike accident. The sixth medical update released by the hospital on Thursday evening confirmed that there has been no significant progress in his neurological recovery.
Doctors overseeing Jawanda’s care said his heart is responding to medication, but his condition remains extremely delicate. He has not regained consciousness and is currently unable to communicate.
“Supportive medication is being administered to stabilize cardiac function,” stated a hospital spokesperson. “However, we are still unable to offer any definitive prognosis at this stage.”
Jawanda’s accident, which occurred on September 27, has led to an outpouring of prayers and support. Religious ceremonies are being held at gurdwaras across the country, with fans and well-wishers hoping for a miracle.
On Thursday, a wave of political figures visited the hospital to show solidarity with the family. Those present included Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, his son Vikram Bajwa, and senior Congress member Balbir Singh Sidhu.
Meanwhile, Jawanda’s digital presence has surged. Since the accident, his Instagram following has jumped from 2.4 million to over 2.6 million, with a noticeable rise in engagement across platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Many fans are using social media to express their concern and post messages of support under the hashtag #PrayForRajvir.
Despite the attention and emotional support, doctors have reiterated that Jawanda’s neurological status remains unchanged, and he remains heavily reliant on ventilator support.
As fans across Punjab and beyond continue to send their prayers, the music industry and Jawanda’s loved ones await any signs of recovery.
