Chandigarh: Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, who was seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Pinjore, is showing gradual signs of improvement, though his condition remains critical. Doctors at Fortis Hospital, Mohali have confirmed that three out of four life support machines have now been removed. However, the singer is still on ventilator support and remains unconscious.
According to the medical team overseeing his care, Jawanda continues to be monitored round-the-clock by specialists in neurosurgery and critical care. Despite the slow progress, hospital authorities say that his condition is slightly more stable compared to earlier this week.
Medical Updates Over Four Days
Jawanda was admitted to Fortis Mohali on September 27 following a serious bike accident in Pinjore, Haryana. The 33-year-old singer reportedly suffered major trauma to his head and spine, and also experienced a cardiac arrest prior to reaching the hospital.
So far, the hospital has issued three medical bulletins:
-
September 27: Jawanda arrived at Fortis Hospital around 1:45 PM in critical condition. He had sustained severe head and spinal injuries, and was placed on advanced life support systems.
-
September 28: Doctors stated he remained on a ventilator, with his vital signs being closely monitored by a dedicated team.
-
September 29: Medical experts observed slight improvement, noting that although he remained unconscious, his dependency on life support had reduced.
Massive Outpouring of Support
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally visited the hospital on Sunday to check on Jawanda’s condition and meet with his family and the treating doctors. After the visit, CM Mann shared that one of the life support systems had been removed, and that the singer’s health had shown slight improvement since Saturday.
“Rajvir Jawanda is a beloved artist of Punjab. His fans across the world are praying for his recovery. The doctors are doing everything possible,” said the Chief Minister, urging the public not to believe or spread unverified updates on social media.
A number of well-known Punjabi singers and industry colleagues have also been making their way to the hospital to offer support and prayers, creating a steady stream of visitors throughout the week.
Family Urges Public to Keep Praying
Jawanda’s family, though visibly emotional, expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their continued prayers and support. They have asked the public to remain hopeful and patient, and continue to pray for the singer’s recovery.
Despite being unconscious, the doctors say that Jawanda’s body is responding to treatment, and they remain cautiously optimistic. Further medical bulletins are expected in the coming days.
