Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has issued the official schedule for Independence Day celebrations, detailing the locations where senior state leaders will unfurl the national flag on August 15.
As per the programme, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will lead the ceremony in Faridkot, marking the 79th Independence Day of the nation. Other cabinet ministers, along with the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, have been allocated to preside over similar events across different districts.
These district-level ceremonies are a long-standing tradition in Punjab, aimed at ensuring the spirit of patriotism resonates across the state. Each event will feature a parade, cultural performances, and tributes to the freedom fighters who contributed to India’s independence.
Officials have also confirmed that preparations are in full swing, with security arrangements being tightened to ensure smooth and safe celebrations. Citizens have been encouraged to participate and show their commitment to the nation’s unity and diversity.
A complete district-wise list of designated dignitaries for the ceremonies has been released by the government and is available for public reference.
