Makkah: Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with senior government and military officials, performed Umrah in Makkah, according to an official statement.
The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and other members of the Pakistani delegation.
Delegation visits Kaaba before Umrah
Before undertaking the Umrah rituals, the Pakistani delegation was given an opportunity to visit the Kaaba Sharif.
Following the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the other members of the delegation, performed Umrah in the holy city.
Prayers for Pakistan and global peace
After completing the religious rites, the Pakistani leaders offered prayers for the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan and its people.
The delegation also prayed for the safety and well-being of the wider Muslim Ummah, as well as peace and stability across the region and the world.
The visit brought together Pakistan’s senior political and military leadership at the holy site, with the delegation’s prayers focusing on national prosperity and broader regional and international peace.
