New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has dismissed a video circulating on social media regarding NEET-UG 2026, describing it as fabricated and misleading. The agency clarified that the medical entrance examination was conducted smoothly under extensive security arrangements and monitoring mechanisms.

In an official statement issued late Saturday, the NTA said the viral content contains inaccurate claims and has no connection with the actual conduct of the examination. The agency urged students, parents and the public not to rely on unverified information being shared across digital platforms.

The examination body emphasized that spreading manipulated or false content related to a national-level examination can create unnecessary anxiety among candidates and may also attract legal consequences. It added that the matter has been taken up with relevant authorities, including cybercrime and law-enforcement agencies, to identify those responsible for creating and distributing the video.

Officials reiterated that all stages of the examination were carried out under strict surveillance protocols, with enhanced security measures in place to ensure transparency and fairness. The agency maintained that there were no disruptions in the conduct of the test.

The NTA also appealed to aspirants to depend only on information released through its official website and verified social media handles. It advised students to avoid forwarding unconfirmed messages, screenshots or videos that could contribute to confusion and misinformation.

With more than 20 lakh candidates participating in NEET-UG 2026, the agency stressed the importance of maintaining trust in the examination process and ensuring that students are not influenced by rumours circulating online.

Authorities are now examining the origin of the viral content and have indicated that appropriate action will be initiated against individuals found involved in spreading the misleading material.
