Nighttime Crash on Etawah–Bareilly Highway Leaves Three Dead in Farrukhabad

Farrukhabad: Three people lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries after a violent collision between a truck and a car on the Etawah–Bareilly highway in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

The accident took place around 8 p.m. on Sunday near Bhaupur Khurd under the Qadri Gate police station limits. According to officials, a truck heading from Farrukhabad towards Etawah rammed into a car approaching from the opposite direction. The force of the impact crushed the car and dragged it for several metres, while the truck overturned along the roadside.

Local police teams rushed to the spot after being alerted and began rescue operations. Several occupants were trapped inside the mangled vehicles and had to be pulled out before being shifted for medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that Virat, who was travelling in the truck, and Mohit, a passenger in the car, died as a result of the crash. The identity of a third deceased person is yet to be established. Two others who suffered critical injuries have been admitted to a hospital in Saifai for treatment.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
