New Delhi: Security concerns escalated in the capital on Monday after several schools in Dwarka received threatening messages and calls. According to officials, the alerts were sent via a Gmail account and circulated to multiple institutions.
Police confirmed that Modern Convent School in Sector 4 and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10 had informed them about receiving such emails. Earlier in the day, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka also reported a bomb threat call, prompting immediate evacuation of students and staff.
The Delhi Fire Service stated that police teams and bomb disposal squads rushed to the premises to conduct intensive checks. “All safety protocols are being followed. The premises have been cleared as a precautionary measure,” an official noted.
Authorities are treating the threats seriously while initial investigations are underway to trace the origin of the Gmail ID used for the messages. Police sources said efforts are on to determine whether the emails are linked to the phone call made to DPS Dwarka.
While no suspicious object has been found so far, officials have urged parents not to panic and assured that strict security measures are in place.
