Moga: In a significant breakthrough, the Moga Police have dismantled a drug trafficking module, arresting three individuals and recovering 5 kilograms of heroin during a well-coordinated intelligence-driven operation.
According to initial findings, the arrested suspects were in direct communication with smugglers based outside the country, suggesting a broader cross-border drug trafficking network. Authorities believe the operation is part of a larger syndicate operating between India and foreign territories.
An FIR has been registered at Sadar Police Station, Moga, and investigations are currently underway to identify the full extent of the network, including both upstream suppliers and downstream distributors.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav praised the efforts of the Moga Police, stating, “Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling drug syndicates and ensuring a safer, drug-free Punjab.”
The development marks another step in the ongoing crackdown against narcotics in Punjab, where law enforcement agencies have been intensifying operations to curb the flow of drugs across the state.
Further arrests and seizures are expected as the investigation progresses and officials work to map out the complete structure of the smuggling operation.
