Missile Debris Incident Near KEZAD Leaves Five Indians Injured in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Five Indian nationals were injured after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell near the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), according to official statements released by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on Saturday.

Authorities confirmed that the injuries ranged from minor to moderate and occurred after the country’s air defence system successfully intercepted a ballistic missile, leading to falling debris and subsequent fire incidents in the area.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said emergency services responded swiftly to two fire outbreaks caused by the debris. Officials also urged residents to rely only on verified information and avoid spreading rumours.

The development follows a similar incident earlier in the week, when debris from intercepted missiles resulted in fatalities. An Indian national was among two people killed, along with a Pakistani national, after debris struck a street.

Reacting to the incident, the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi expressed condolences over the loss of life and said it is in close coordination with UAE authorities to provide assistance to affected Indian nationals.

The situation highlights ongoing regional security concerns, even as defence systems continue to intercept incoming threats to prevent larger-scale damage.
