Dubai: Residents across parts of Dubai experienced a moment of alarm on Friday when a series of loud explosions echoed through the city, briefly causing buildings to shake and prompting concern among people in nearby neighborhoods.

Eyewitnesses described hearing powerful blasts before noticing a plume of smoke rising over a central district. The sudden noise and visible smoke led many residents to fear a serious incident had occurred.

Authorities later clarified that the disturbance was linked to debris from an aerial interception carried out successfully. According to officials, fragments from the intercepted object fell and caused minor damage to the outer facade of a building in the city’s central area.

In an update shared on the social media platform X, the Dubai Media Office confirmed that emergency teams quickly reached the location and secured the surroundings. Officials stressed that the damage was limited to the exterior of the structure and did not pose a wider risk to the public.

Security and emergency crews inspected the site shortly after the incident to ensure there were no safety concerns. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported and reassured residents that the situation had been fully contained.

Although the blasts briefly unsettled people living nearby, officials emphasised that the response was swift and that the city remains safe.
