Chandigarh: Haryana showcased its outstanding work and innovations in the field of water conservation and water resource management at the 9th India International Water Week-2026 held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Water experts, policymakers, representatives from various states and international partners from India and abroad participated in the conference. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Jal Shakti C. R. Patil.
Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Satbir Singh Kadian, Engineer-in-Chief and Chief Director, gave a detailed presentation on the work being undertaken in Haryana for water conservation, effective management of water resources and institutional strengthening. He highlighted the state’s initiatives for conserving water, efficient utilisation of available water resources, strengthening irrigation systems and meeting future water requirements.
He said that the recent signing of the agreement for the Kishau Multipurpose Project is a significant achievement in the field of water resource management. The Kishau Multipurpose Project is an important initiative in the Yamuna basin for water storage, irrigation, drinking water supply, power generation and strengthening the flow of the Yamuna.
