Chandigarh: The Haryana Government ordered the suspension of two senior IAS officers in connection with a Rs 590 crore banking fraud involving IDFC First Bank and AU Small Finance Bank.
Ram Kumar Singh, IAS (HY:2012), serving as Additional CEO of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority and holding charges in the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, has been suspended with immediate effect. During his suspension, Singh’s official headquarters will be shifted to the office of the Chief Secretary to the Government of Haryana (Services-I Branch).
In a separate order, Pardeep Kumar-1, IAS (HY:2011), Director of State Transport, Haryana, and Special Secretary to the Transport Department, was also suspended. His official headquarters during the suspension will similarly be at the Chief Secretary’s office in Chandigarh.
The suspensions come amid allegations linking both officers to the large-scale banking scam, which has triggered an investigation into the role of government officials in facilitating or failing to prevent the fraudulent transactions.
The Haryana government has not provided further details on the ongoing probe but emphasized that stringent action is being taken against officials implicated in financial irregularities to ensure accountability and maintain public trust.
