Centre Dismisses Claims of Revised LPG Refill Waiting Periods

New Delhi: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued a clarification rejecting recent claims circulating in news reports and on social media about changes in LPG refill booking timelines.

According to the ministry, reports suggesting new waiting periods—such as 45 days for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), 25 days for non-PMUY single-cylinder users, and 35 days for double-cylinder consumers—are inaccurate and misleading.

Officials emphasized that no revisions have been introduced to the existing system. “The current timelines for booking LPG refills remain as they were, and there has been no policy change,” the ministry stated, urging the public to rely only on verified sources for such information.

The clarification comes amid growing confusion among consumers, many of whom expressed concern over the purported increase in waiting periods. Authorities have advised citizens not to be swayed by unverified posts and to check official communication channels for updates regarding LPG services.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted LPG supply across the country and maintaining transparency in its policies.
