New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that the nation will celebrate ‘Bharat Parv 2025’ from November 1 to 15, in tribute to the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Speaking at a press briefing, Shah revealed plans for a grand annual parade in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, scheduled every October 31 to commemorate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary. The inaugural parade will see the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will commence at 7:55 am on Friday.

Shah highlighted the pivotal role Sardar Patel played alongside Mahatma Gandhi in strengthening India’s struggle for independence and laying the foundations of the republic. He emphasized Patel’s monumental contribution to nation-building, contrasting it with the approach of the Congress party, which, according to Shah, failed to adequately honor the leader’s legacy by neglecting to construct statues or memorials in his name.

In contrast, Shah praised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s initiative in creating the ‘Statue of Unity’—a marvel of engineering and a lasting tribute to Sardar Patel’s enduring legacy.
