Amritsar: In a move aimed at reinforcing spiritual discipline, the head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, has decided that he will no longer pose for photographs with politicians, ministers, or other high-profile personalities visiting the dera.
Sources within the organisation said the step has been taken to uphold the spiritual ethos of equality that the dera has consistently emphasised. The leadership has often conveyed that in the Guru’s court, all devotees stand on equal footing, regardless of social or political status. The latest directive underscores that principle by drawing a clear line between spiritual engagement and public display.
Over the years, prominent political figures have visited the Beas headquarters, particularly during election seasons, and photographs of such meetings often circulated widely. With the new policy in place, the dera management intends to prevent any perception of endorsement or association that could arise from publicised images.
According to insiders, while dignitaries and public representatives may still seek personal meetings with Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, no official or private photographs from such interactions will be released to the media or shared on social platforms. The focus, the management maintains, will remain solely on spiritual discourse and service.
The decision has been welcomed by many followers, who view it as a reaffirmation of the dera’s commitment to spiritual neutrality and equal treatment for all members of the Sangat.
