New Delhi: The administration has initiated efforts to establish communication with the protesters, according to Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das, who said the organisation remains willing to engage in discussions but is waiting for a clear response from the government.

Speaking to reporters, Das said the protesters have consistently sought dialogue since the beginning of the agitation and welcomed the administration’s recent outreach, despite describing it as delayed.

“We have been asking for talks since the very first day. Although the administration’s initiative has come much later, we have made it clear that we are ready to engage in constructive discussions. At this stage, we are still waiting for clarity from the government’s side. The next step rests with them,” he said.

Das reiterated that the protesters remain committed to resolving the issue through peaceful means and expressed hope that formal talks would begin soon.

Commenting on the health of environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, Das said he remains in stable condition and has continued his indefinite hunger strike in support of the movement. He also shared that Wangchuk had conveyed his encouragement to the young participants involved in the protest.

“Sonam ji is stable and continues with his fast. He has sent his best wishes to the youth who are part of this movement,” Das said.

He further noted that demonstrators have maintained a peaceful presence for nearly a month, emphasising that the protest has remained non-violent throughout. According to Das, preparations are underway for another peaceful march, reflecting the protesters’ determination to continue expressing their demands through democratic and peaceful methods.

The developments come amid growing expectations that dialogue between the authorities and protest representatives could pave the way for a resolution, although no official timeline for formal negotiations has been announced.
