New Delhi— Allison Hooker, the United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, will visit New Delhi and Bengaluru from December 7 to 11 to advance key pillars of the US-India partnership, the US Embassy announced on Saturday.
According to the statement, her visit will focus on strengthening strategic ties, expanding economic and commercial cooperation, increasing American exports, and deepening collaboration in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and space exploration.
During her stay in New Delhi, Hooker will meet senior Indian officials to discuss regional security, economic engagement and joint Indo-Pacific priorities. She is also scheduled to participate in Foreign Office Consultations with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
In Bengaluru, Hooker will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation and interact with leaders from India’s space, technology and energy sectors. The discussions aim to boost innovation-driven research partnerships and explore new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
The embassy said the visit aligns with US President Donald Trump’s vision of a stronger US-India partnership and a free, open and secure Indo-Pacific.
The trip comes as India and the United States reaffirmed their stand against terrorism during the 21st India-USA Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism and the 7th Designations Dialogue held on December 3. Both sides condemned terrorism in all forms, including cross-border attacks, and backed stronger multilateral action through platforms such as the UN, Quad and FATF.
They also called for additional UN 1267 sanctions against affiliates of ISIS, Al-Qaida, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, emphasising the need for global measures like asset freezes, travel bans and arms embargoes. Both nations condemned recent terror incidents in Pahalgam and near Delhi’s Red Fort, stressing that those responsible must be held accountable.
The meetings highlighted the continued importance of counter-terrorism collaboration as part of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
