New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is recovering steadily after being admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital earlier this week due to an infection, hospital authorities confirmed on Thursday.
According to hospital officials, the 79-year-old leader was admitted late on March 24 after developing a fever. Chairman Dr. Ajay Swarup stated that she is responding well to antibiotic treatment, with noticeable improvement in her condition over the past few days.
Doctors have said that although her health is stable, she will continue to remain under observation as a precaution. A team of senior physicians is closely monitoring her recovery to ensure there are no complications.
Sources indicated that the illness may have been aggravated by recent changes in weather conditions. However, with ongoing treatment and medical supervision, her condition is said to be under control.
The veteran leader is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days until doctors are satisfied with her recovery progress.
