Mumbai: A second Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight was diverted on Thursday after receiving a bomb threat, marking the second such scare within hours. The aircraft, which took off from Sharjah, was rerouted mid-air to Mumbai after authorities were alerted to the threat. According to flight tracking data from FlightRadar24, the plane landed safely in Mumbai, and an official statement from IndiGo is still awaited.

The incident unfolded shortly after another IndiGo flight from Madinah to Hyderabad made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad earlier in the day due to a similar threat. The email received by Hyderabad airport authorities warned that the aircraft would be blown up if it were allowed to land at its destination.

The Madinah–Hyderabad flight, carrying more than 180 passengers and six crew members, was grounded around noon and moved to an isolated bay for inspection. Ahmedabad Zone Four deputy police commissioner Atul Bansal said the plane was diverted as a precaution after the airport received the threatening email.

Security agencies are investigating both incidents, and passengers from both flights were safely evacuated as checks continued.
