Ayodhya: All construction-related work at the Ram temple complex in Ayodhya is expected to be completed by April 30, with the total cost of the project estimated at around Rs 1,900 crore, Ram Temple Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters after a two-day meeting of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, Mishra said major construction agencies Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Tata Consultancy, which have been executing key components of the project, will conclude their on-site work and exit the temple premises by the end of April. He added that instructions have also been issued to ensure that all documentation and bill settlement processes are completed by the same deadline.
Mishra said both L&T and Tata Consultancy have provided a three-year warranty for the construction work carried out by them. He noted that for maintenance and technical support, a limited team from the two firms will continue to remain stationed within the temple complex even after construction is completed.
He further stated that after April 30, all existing agreements with L&T, Tata Consultancy and the State Construction Corporation will be formally taken over by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the temple affairs.
Detailing the financial outlay, Mishra said approximately Rs 1,600 crore, including Goods and Services Tax, has already been paid towards the project, while the overall expenditure is projected to reach about Rs 1,900 crore upon completion.
Officials said the meeting focused on reviewing the current status of construction, associated infrastructure works and finalising timelines for completion as well as the handover of responsibilities.
