Ferozepur: Indian Railways has announced the cancellation of 12 long-distance trains and rescheduling of two others due to non-interlocking work at Durgapur station. The disruption comes as part of a major yard remodelling and commissioning of a new Electronic Interlocking (E.I.) Cabin aimed at modernising the route. The cancellations will affect trains operating between major terminals, including Kolkata, Sealdah, Howrah, and Anand Vihar, from October 31 to November 22, 2025.
According to the schedule, the 12325 Kolkata Terminal–Nangal Dam Express will not operate on November 20, while its return train, the 12326 Nangal Dam–Kolkata Terminal Express, is cancelled on November 22. Similarly, the 12329 Sealdah–Anand Vihar Terminal Express stands cancelled on November 18, and its return service (12330) on November 19. The 12333 Howrah Junction–Prayagraj Rambag Express will remain suspended on November 19, 20, 21, and 22, with its return journey (12334) cancelled on November 20, 21, and 22.
Further, the 12357 Kolkata Terminal–Amritsar Express and 12358 Amritsar–Kolkata Terminal Express will not operate on November 18 and 20, respectively. The 12353 Howrah Junction–Lalkua Junction Express is cancelled on October 31 and November 14, and its return (12354) on November 1 and 15. Additionally, the 13167 Kolkata Terminal–Agra Cantt Junction Express and 13168 Agra Cantt–Kolkata Terminal Express will not run on November 20 and 22, respectively.
In terms of rescheduling, the 12259 Sealdah–Bikaner Junction Duronto Express departing on November 23 will leave 80 minutes late, while the 12313 Sealdah–New Delhi Rajdhani Express scheduled for the same date will also be delayed by 80 minutes.
Passengers have been urged to verify the latest train status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or by calling 139 to plan their journeys accordingly.
