New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin began the second day of his India visit with a grand ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he was honoured with a 21-gun salute and a Guard of Honour. The reception marked an important moment in the ongoing diplomatic engagement between New Delhi and Moscow.
After the official ceremony, President Putin visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a floral wreath at his memorial. He then reached Hyderabad House, where he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi started high-level bilateral discussions.
The two leaders are meeting as part of the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit, a major diplomatic event drawing global attention. The summit is expected to result in the signing of more than 25 agreements spanning defence, energy, trade, and other key sectors. Officials believe the outcomes could chart a renewed strategic path for the longstanding partnership between the two nations.
Beyond talks with PM Modi, President Putin has a busy schedule that includes meetings with prominent Indian industrialists. These interactions aim to deepen economic engagement, expand investment opportunities, and explore new areas of collaboration to boost bilateral trade.
