President Murmu meets astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, India’s first ISS traveler

New Delhi: Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to travel to the International Space Station (ISS), met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday and recounted his experiences in space.

Shukla, who spent 20 days aboard the ISS as part of Axiom Mission 4, returned to Earth last month along with his international crew. He was accompanied to the President’s residence by Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Punyashlok Biswal, ISRO Chairman and Department of Space Secretary V. Narayanan, and Human Space Flight Centre Director Dinesh Kumar Singh.

President Murmu extended her best wishes to Shukla and the entire team for future projects, particularly the upcoming Gaganyaan Mission. She lauded their contribution to India’s growing space journey and emphasized the nation’s pride in their achievements.
