Mumbai: Concern has grown across the country after legendary singer Asha Bhosle was admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to health complications. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed his concern and extended his wishes for her quick recovery.
Taking to social media, the Prime Minister said he was “deeply concerned” to learn about the veteran artist’s hospitalisation and prayed for her good health.
The 92-year-old singer has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital following severe fatigue and a chest infection, according to her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle. She shared an update requesting privacy for the family while confirming that treatment is currently underway and doctors are monitoring her condition.
Asha Bhosle, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, has had a remarkable career spanning over eight decades. From energetic numbers like “Piya Tu Ab To Aaja” to soulful renditions such as “Dil Cheez Kya Hai,” she has consistently showcased her versatility across genres.
Despite her age, the iconic singer has continued to perform live, even delivering high-energy concerts in recent years. Her dedication to music has often been described as unwavering, with the artist herself once calling music her “breath.”
