New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday described the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections as “memorable,” calling it a triumph of people’s power and good governance.
In a statement following the party’s strong performance, Modi said the mandate reflected the faith of the people in BJP’s vision. “The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections will be remembered forever. People’s power has prevailed and BJP’s politics of good governance has triumphed. I bow to each and every person of West Bengal,” he said.
The Prime Minister assured that the party would work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He said the BJP is committed to delivering a government that ensures opportunity and dignity for all sections of society.
Highlighting the role of party workers, Modi credited the victory to the sustained efforts and struggles of BJP karyakartas over the years. “This record win would not have been possible without the hard work of countless karyakartas. They have overcome all adversities and consistently taken our development agenda to the people,” he said.
The BJP’s performance in West Bengal marks a major political shift in the state, with the party poised to form its first government if trends translate into final results.
