New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET-UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank account details for refund of examination fees till June 22, following the cancellation of the medical entrance examination amid allegations of a paper leak.
The agency had earlier announced that NEET-UG 2026 would be conducted afresh on June 21 and clarified that no additional fee would be charged for the re-examination. It had also assured candidates that the fee already paid for the cancelled exam would be refunded.
In a notice shared on X on Wednesday, the NTA said nearly 13 lakh candidates have already updated their bank account information on the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal. The extension, it said, has been granted to help candidates who are yet to complete the process.
The facility for submission of bank account details was initially available from May 22 to May 26. Candidates can now submit their details till June 22, up to 11:50 PM, by logging into the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal using their application credentials.
The NTA also advised candidates to upload a cancelled cheque, if they wish, to ensure accuracy of the bank account information submitted for the refund process.
The agency clarified that once bank details are submitted, they will be treated as final and no further changes will be permitted.
Nearly 23 lakh candidates had registered for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, which was conducted on May 3. However, the test was cancelled on May 12 after allegations of a paper leak surfaced. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the matter.
The fresh examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.
