Mumbai: Actor Nora Fatehi has reassured fans that she is safe after being involved in a serious car accident in Mumbai, though she admitted the incident has left her “slightly traumatised.” The accident occurred on Saturday while the actor was travelling to the Sunburn music festival in the city’s western suburbs.
According to police, a car driven by a man allegedly under the influence of alcohol rammed into Fatehi’s vehicle. The driver has since been arrested. The impact of the collision was severe, causing Fatehi to be thrown across the car.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Sunday, the 33-year-old actor shared videos recounting the ordeal and updating fans on her condition. She said the collision caused her head to hit the window and left her with minor injuries, swelling and a mild concussion.
“I’m alive and I’m well. It could have ended terribly, but thankfully it didn’t,” Fatehi said, adding that the incident reinforced her strong stand against drinking and driving. She described the moment as frightening and traumatic, stressing that reckless driving puts lives at risk.
Despite the accident, Fatehi chose not to cancel her scheduled appearance at the Sunburn music festival and went on to perform alongside DJ David Guetta. Explaining her decision, she said she did not want the incident to derail her professional commitments or the opportunities she had worked hard to achieve.
The actor also used the moment to issue a strong public message, urging people to avoid alcohol and driving altogether, calling the practice dangerous and unacceptable in today’s time.
