New Delhi: In a major development linked to an ongoing terror conspiracy investigation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out extensive raids at 22 locations across multiple states and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to official sources, the coordinated search operations were conducted across five states—Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu—as well as in key districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The action is part of a broader probe into a suspected terror module believed to be planning activities to disrupt peace and national security.
Within Jammu and Kashmir, the agency focused its operations on Baramulla, Pulwama, Kulgam, and Anantnag districts—regions often under the radar for militant activities. A total of nine sites were searched in the Union Territory alone.
In Bihar, eight separate locations were targeted, while two sites in Uttar Pradesh were also raided. One location each in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu was also part of the agency’s operation.
Sources familiar with the matter said that digital devices, documents, and other incriminating materials have been seized during the searches. Investigators are now examining the recovered items to establish potential links between suspects and cross-border terror networks.
While no arrests have been officially announced as of yet, officials confirmed that individuals connected to the case have been identified and are being questioned.
The NIA has intensified its efforts in recent months to dismantle emerging terror networks operating within the country, particularly those suspected of having international connections or receiving foreign funding.
This latest operation is seen as part of the agency’s strategic crackdown on attempts to incite violence and radicalize individuals through digital and underground channels. Further details are expected once the raids conclude and evidence is fully evaluated.
