New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a key operative of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, who was wanted in multiple criminal cases and carried a reward of ₹1 lakh, from Loni in Uttar Pradesh, an official said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Vikas alias Vicky, is a resident of Mahendergarh district in Haryana and was wanted in an Arms Act case registered at the Chanakyapuri police station. Police said he was an active member of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar syndicate and played an important logistical role for the gang.
According to the police, Vikas had been declared a proclaimed offender and is allegedly involved in at least 18 criminal cases across four states—Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. In 2023, he reportedly arranged accommodation for around 10 gang members in a rented flat in Gurugram, where they had allegedly gathered to plan the murder of Kaushal Chaudhary, leader of a rival gang, inside a court complex.
Based on intelligence inputs, police had earlier raided the flat and arrested the gang members present there, while Vikas managed to escape. Following this, the Haryana Special Task Force announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for information leading to his arrest, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Kumar.
About six months later, Vikas was arrested by the Haryana Police from Hisar, but he allegedly went underground again after being released. During interrogation, he disclosed that he had come in contact with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while lodged in Jaipur jail in 2021, the DCP said.
Police further stated that after factional differences emerged between the Lawrence Bishnoi group and the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, Vikas switched allegiance and became an active operative of the latter. He was allegedly involved in robbery and extortion to raise funds for the gang.
In June 2025, Goldy Brar allegedly made extortion threat calls to several businessmen in Delhi. Vikas and his associates were reportedly tasked with carrying out a firing incident outside a club in the city on the gang leader’s directions. However, the plan was foiled after his associates were arrested in the Chanakyapuri area.
Vikas had been absconding in connection with an Arms Act case registered on June 23 last year, in which an illegal pistol was recovered after a police team intercepted a car with a temporary registration number during routine night patrolling. While two occupants of the vehicle were arrested on the spot, Vikas had managed to flee.
Proceedings under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita had been initiated against him, and further investigation is currently underway, police added.
