New Delhi: A major security breach was reported at the Delhi Legislative Assembly after a car driven by a masked man forcefully entered the premises on Monday afternoon, officials said.
According to authorities, the vehicle—bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number—broke through Gate No. 2 around 2 pm and drove inside the high-security complex. The driver then proceeded toward the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta.
In a surprising turn, the individual placed a flower bouquet near the porch of the Speaker’s office before retreating from the premises.
Officials described the incident as a serious security lapse and are treating it as a potential breach. Security agencies have launched an investigation to identify the driver and determine the motive behind the act.
The incident comes shortly after the Assembly had received bomb threats during the recently concluded Budget session, further heightening concerns over the safety of key government institutions.
Authorities are reviewing security protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
