New Delhi: In the latest edition of his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted a series of landmark achievements across India’s naval, aerospace, and missile sectors, terming them vital milestones that inspire national pride. He emphasized that these successes underscore the country’s growing strength in national security and innovation, further propelling the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. During the broadcast, the Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to citizens for their positive response to his appeal for responsible consumption amidst the ongoing volatile situation in West Asia.

Reflecting on the progress made during the first half of 2026, Prime Minister Modi noted that June had brought remarkable advancements to the country’s domestic defence manufacturing capabilities. He recalled his recent visit to Kolkata, where three advanced warships—INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak, and INS Agray—were formally inducted into the Indian Navy’s fleet. The Prime Minister point out that everything from the conceptual design to the physical manufacturing of these vessels was executed entirely within India, showcasing the nation’s expanding maritime shipbuilding prowess.

Turning to the aviation sector, the Prime Minister celebrated another major technological breakthrough with the successful maiden flight of the Made-in-India C-295 transport aircraft earlier this month. He noted that forty such transport aircraft are currently being manufactured domestically, a massive initiative that is actively boosting the MSME and aerospace sectors while creating substantial employment opportunities and securing defence self-reliance.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi lauded the Defence Research and Development Organisation for its successful test of an indigenous long-range land-attack cruise missile. Developed through a collaborative effort between DRDO laboratories and domestic industrial partners, the missile test represents the strengthening synergy between India’s premier research institutions and private manufacturers. The Prime Minister concluded that India is consistently growing stronger from the seas to the skies, with homegrown technologies playing a pivotal role in safeguarding national sovereignty while driving industrial development.
