New Delhi: As the festive season begins, consumers have received another dose of relief from oil marketing companies. The price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced once again, the fifth monthly cut in a row.
In the national capital, the cylinder that earlier cost Rs 1,631.50 will now be available at Rs 1,580, marking a reduction of Rs 51.50. The revised rates have come into effect from today. Similar revisions have been made across major cities. In Kolkata, the price stands at Rs 1,684, in Mumbai at Rs 1,531.50, and in Chennai at Rs 1,738.
Despite repeated reductions in commercial LPG rates, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder remains unchanged. For households in Delhi, the rate continues at Rs 853, while in Kolkata it is Rs 879, in Mumbai Rs 852.50, and in Chennai Rs 868.50. The last revision in domestic LPG was carried out in April this year.
A look at the price trend shows that in March, the commercial cylinder in Delhi was priced at Rs 1,803. Since then, consecutive cuts on the first day of each month have brought the rate down steadily: April (Rs 1,762), May (Rs 1,747.50), June (Rs 1,723.50), July (Rs 1,665), and August (Rs 1,631.50). In total, Delhi consumers have seen a drop of Rs 223 per cylinder within five months.
Meanwhile, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have seen a rise. In Delhi, ATF is now priced at Rs 90,713.52 per kilolitre, which could influence airline operating costs in the coming months.
