Patna: Popular educator Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, has been named in an FIR in connection with a vandalism incident at his coaching institute in Bihar’s capital Patna, police officials said on Friday.

The development comes days after a group of around 15 to 20 people allegedly attacked the premises of Khan Global Studies Institute on Tuesday night, damaging property and pelting stones at the coaching centre.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that Khan Sir’s name has been included in the FIR and that he will be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. However, the police have not yet disclosed the specific charges under which he has been named.

The case took another turn on Thursday when police detained two security guards employed at the coaching institute. The action followed the circulation of a purported video on social media that allegedly showed the guards firing shots during the disturbance.

Following the incident, Khan Sir had claimed that individuals linked to a rival coaching institute were responsible for the attack and the alleged firing. However, he later stated that only a police investigation could determine whether any firing had actually occurred and who was responsible.

Meanwhile, representatives of a rival coaching institute held a press conference on Thursday, alleging that the incident had been orchestrated by Khan Sir himself. The educator has not publicly responded to those specific allegations.

Police are currently examining CCTV footage, witness statements and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and identify those involved in the vandalism and alleged firing.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have said further action will depend on the findings of the inquiry.
