New Delhi — IndiGo has appointed an independent aviation expert to conduct a detailed root-cause analysis of the widespread operational disruptions that began on December 2. The airline’s board announced on Friday that Chief Aviation Advisors LLC, led by veteran aviation specialist Captain John Illson, will carry out a comprehensive review of the incident.

InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo’s parent company, has already formed a crisis management group to deal with the continuing disruptions. The decision to bring in an external expert comes as part of a broader effort to identify operational gaps and prevent future breakdowns.

According to the airline’s statement, Captain Illson will begin the assessment at the earliest and submit a full report to the board. The review will examine the causes behind the disruptions and outline areas where operational improvements can be made.
